The home side opened the scoring early on as Sam Peet crossed the line after just four minutes, Johnson couldn't add the conversion as it drifted wide.
Peet and the Crusaders then looked to be in for their second after a nice move from the North Wales outfit. Though the try was disallowed for a forward pass in the build up. The visitors were then able to open their account for the afternoon and they took the conversion well to take the lead by two points.
Steven Wild then brought the lead back to the home side as he was set up from a line break. He crossed under the posts making it an easy conversion for Johnson.
The last 10 minutes of the second half saw a much improved performance from the Crusaders as Jamie Dallimore was sent over quickly followed by Scott Turner with Johnson converting both he sent the teams into half time with the North Wales Crusaders leading 22-6.
The second half got off to a good start for the home side as Andy Moulsdale found the line after a great dummy through the Scorpion's defence. Johnson successfully added the conversion to open the second half scoring.
Scott Turner then added another for the hosts as he stepped inside to ground the ball, Johnson's conversion was wide and the Crusaders lead 32-6. The hosts then made good use of a Scorpions knock on 10 meters out as Jono Smith barged his way over and Johnson converted.
The visitors then responded as Hill went over to reduce the gap, the conversion was missed to bring the scores to 38-10.
It didn't take long for the Crusaders to get back into their grove as Jono Smith ran into the Scorpion's defence, passed out to Jamie Dallimore who went over and Johnson added the extras. The Crusaders were then reduced to twelve as Jono Smith saw yellow and went into the sin bin. Despite being a man down the Crusaders managed to hit 50 as Callum Wright sent Wild over out wide and Johnson converted to extend the lead to 40 points.
To end the game the Tommy Johnson collected his own kick to go over before rounding off the afternoon by converting his own try and sending both teams home with the final score North Wales Crusaders 56-10 South Wales Scorpions.
